About the Author
Jackie has always taken pride in helping women feel good about their appearance. A professional hair stylist for over 25 years and the owner of a successful salon in Michigan, she thought she had achieved her lifetime career goal. Then in 2001 Jackie’s sister Annette was diagnosed with cancer and had a heartbreaking experience while shopping for a wig. From that moment on, Jackie knew she would devote her life’s work to helping women maintain a sense of themselves while undergoing cancer treatment.
After meeting her future husband Joe, a Canadian, she married and moved to Ontario and opened Wigs to Wellness & The Mastectomy Boutique. She started thinking about writing a book after seeing the stress many of her clients were going through. With no comprehensive book or resource to give them or point them to, she created a one-stop resource with information, tips, ideas and inspiration gleaned from years of experience and research.
Jackie is a licensed hair and wig specialist, a certified mastectomy fitter and a volunteer for the International Look Good Feel Better Program. She has been recognized with the Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland's 2017 Vocational Service Award for excelling in her vocation and exemplifying service above self.
Jackie has personally helped over one thousand women with cancer heal with dignity.
